Ingredients
- 250 g canned beef loaf (1 large can)
- 2 large eggs
- 50 g onion, finely chopped (about 1 small onion)
- 6 g garlic, minced (about 2 cloves)
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Cooking oil, as needed for pan-frying
- 5 g spring onions, chopped, for garnish
How to Make It
- Crack the eggs into a bowl, season lightly with salt and black pepper, and beat until combined.
- Place the beef loaf in a separate bowl and mash with a fork.
- Add the beaten eggs, finely chopped onion, and minced garlic. Mix until evenly combined.
- Heat a thin layer of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Spoon portions of the mixture into the pan and gently flatten into patties. Leave space between them.
- Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed, until golden brown and the egg is fully set throughout.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve warm.
Kubo Tips
- Season lightly because canned beef loaf already contains salt.
- Chop the onion finely so it cooks through without making the patties difficult to shape.
- Let the underside set before flipping so the torta holds together.
- Lower the heat if the outside browns before the center is cooked.
